Life is amazing yet difficult. People are always adapting to change whether they want to or not. These adaptations can take a toll on us which is why it’s always important to check in on you, yea the inner you, and make sure that “you” are okay. That is why seeking a therapist is a top priority.
I am a trauma-informed therapist, trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR therapy focuses on helping you regulate your mood by processing your emotional experiences in a new way. In these therapies, you change by accessing new emotionally based and resilient self-states in response to situations that previously evoked shame, anxiety, and hopelessness and using these new, more resilient stages.
I believe in the idea of “any modality it takes”. Everyone is different and it would be unwise to think that one specialty would work for all areas. I use an eclectic approach to therapy which includes Client-Centered, REBT, CBT, and solution-Based forms of therapy. As a professional, I will always be open to learning and adding modalities to my repertoire. Trauma can be acute, chronic, and complex, there is no version that is superior to the other. Any type of trauma can have aversive effects that challenge positive daily living. I have the tools to help you overcome the obstacles bringing you to therapy.

I believe that the path to healing begins with connection– connection to yourself, others, and the world around you. I consider the therapeutic relationship to be the initial stepping stone to help you foster that sense of connection and enact positive change in your life. My approach to therapy is insight-oriented and relational, meaning that I strive to create a collaborative space where together we can explore the connection between the past and present to make sense of your emotions, behaviors, and experiences. Because our thoughts, feelings and memories can at times feel painful, I place an emphasis on ensuring that you feel safe and supported in the therapeutic relationship to facilitate exploration and insight around your experiences. Together, we can identity the meaning of these experiences while also building upon your existing strengths to discover the agency required to create your own version of meaningful change. I am motivated by my genuine desire to help others, my belief that my work as a therapist is a privilege, and my understanding that all individuals have an innate capacity for self-realization. It is my hope that my personal values, warmth and non-judgmental perspective will allow you to feel cared for and will also help you to find your own power to actualize your life goals.
My work is trauma-informed and integrates a variety of evidence-based frameworks, primarily attachment theory, psychodynamic psychotherapy, feminist perspectives, cultural humility and somatic therapy. I specialize in addressing women’s issues and perinatal/post-partum concerns and treat clients facing a range of difficulties related to interpersonal relationships, intimacy and relational patterns, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma, gender-based violence/domestic violence, grief and loss, identity development, mood difficulties, depression, anxiety, body image issues, chronic stress and burnout, life adjustments, gender and sexual identity, and spirituality.
Throughout my instruction as a Clinical Psychology PhD candidate, I received formal training in several structured, skill-based therapies that can be incorporated into our work together including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I also enjoy merging creativity, spirituality, and visualization/meditation into practice when appropriate. Further, I am trained in trauma-sensitive yoga and am a strong advocate for the value of movement practices and meditation in daily life; if desired, I am glad to work with you to create a personal practice to support your mental and physical well-being.
I am honored to work with people of diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and economic backgrounds as well as all and sexual and gender identities. While I work with children in unique circumstances, I primarily provide treatment to adolescents, adults and families.

In my practice, I believe therapy is a place to lay down the weight of emotions, thoughts, and past experiences. It is a space where you can be seen, heard, and understood without judgment. I strive to create an environment that is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental, allowing you to express your authentic self with confidence.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the deep connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Healing involves nurturing all aspects of your being. By integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness practices, I work with you to gain insight into your challenges and develop tools to move forward.
While I offer a compassionate and gentle approach, I also believe in encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone. Growth occurs when we embrace discomfort, and I will support you in navigating this process at your own pace. Additionally, I believe reconnecting with personal rituals, hobbies, and creative outlets can be essential for healing, self-expression, and building resilience. Ultimately, my goal is to help you reconnect with your true self, understand your story, and create meaningful change in your life. If you are ready to begin this journey, I am here to walk alongside you!
